Traffic troubles plague U.S. 1, I-20 in North Augusta area

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A truck carrying what appeared to be scrap materials overturned on U.S. 1, causing parts of the road to be closed.
The accident happened around 10 a.m. near exit 17 and Mae’s Video.
According to the North Augusta Department of Public Safety, only one lane of traffic was open while responders worked to clean up the road.
Elsewhere near the state line
Meanwhile, there were other traffic problems near the Georgia-South Carolina state line.
Due to a lane closure for construction, there was congestion on Interstate 20 between the state line and northbound Exit 5 in South Carolina.
