GBI called in after shooting injures youth in Thomson

THOMSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a shooting that injured one person Friday morning in Thomson.
The agency said the shooting happened sometime before about 5:50 a.m. at the Brickyard Village Apartments, 125 Springfield St.
Police responded to the apartments after receiving a call about gunshots in the area.
GBI special agents learned that one juvenile had been shot and suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for gunshot wounds before being released.
The GBI said it appears two apartments were struck by gunfire.
The agency’s assistance was requested by Thomson police.
