Elderly sisters identified as victims of deadly Aiken County fire

WARRENVILLE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Authorities have released the identities of two elderly residents who died while trapped in a burning Warrenville home.
The fire was reported at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at 110 White Ash St.
According to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, both residents were trapped inside the home.
Their bodies were found after the fire was extinguished.
Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said Thursday they were identified as siblings — 72-year-old Leila Ann Gantt and her sister, 68-year-old Alice Gantt.
Both died of smoke and soot inhalation and thermal injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
