WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - On April 19, an Amber Alert had authorities scrambling to find 4-month-old A’hmaud Griffin after the father was suspected of abducting him from 803 Davis Road.

Authorities believed Travis Griffin jumped out of the residence window and fled on foot with baby Griffin.

However, after an interview with WPD investigators, Griffin revealed “a completely different of events.” Police say it was the opposite of what the child’s mother, Tamia Copper, told them.

As a result, the kidnapping charge against Griffin has been dropped. The simple battery family violence charge against him will remain.

Cooper was arrested and charged with making a false statement and simple battery family violence.
