Gun brandished, but no shots fired in incident at the Augusta Mall

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Deputies were called to the Augusta Mall food court Sunday afternoon after reports of shots fired.
According to the incident report, a Richmond County deputy responded to the call around 2 p.m. Sunday. The deputy spoke with mall security who advised there was no active shooter threat and no shots were fired.
A witness told the deputy that she saw two groups of men enter the mall near the food court. She says the two groups got into a verbal altercation. One of the men lifted his shirt and openly displayed a gun, and someone in the food court shouted, “Gun!” Multiple people inside the mall started running away from the area.
No one was hurt in the incident.
