Apartment shooting victim goes to fire station for help

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An investigation is ongoing after a woman showed up at an Augusta fire station with a gunshot wound, deputies say.
On Saturday at 3:05 p.m., Richmond County deputies were sent to Augusta Fire Department Station 6 in response to a gunshot victim.
Upon arrival, they found a female victim who had been shot at least once and was being treated by fire personnel.
Deputies learned about a shooting incident that happened at the Cedarwood Apartments at Richmond Hill Road West, and the woman was taken to the fire station by a private vehicle after being injured.
The woman was eventually taken to AUMC, and deputies say her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The sheriff’s office says there is no information about a potential suspect right now, and the investigation is in the early stages.
