AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) -The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting that happened at T. W. Josey High School, Saturday afternoon September 17th.

Officials say the incident happened at 5:24 p.m. following a football game outside of the football stadium.

Deputies located two victims who appeared to have sustained one gunshot wound; both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The sheriff’s office is also saying an altercation was reported that took place before the shooting.

The Richmond County School System also released a statement confirming the same information and that this incident took place as their Homecoming post-game tailgate was wrapping up.

While no suspects or further details have been released, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
