AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One man was transported to the hospital after a shooting Tuesday afternoon on Sedgefield Drive in south Augusta.

Richmond County deputies said they responded to the scene around 1:10 p.m. According to officials, deputies located the victim that was shot multiple times.

A witness told News 12 that around 1:30 p.m., gunshots were heard, a road was blocked, and two males were leaving the area with two females at the scene in a mobile home park south of Phinizy Road between Mike Padgett Highway and Peach Orchard Road.

Four subjects were identified as suspects and were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, according to authorities.

They were identified as Isaiah Rasheek Glanton, Roman Daniel Farrington, De’Asia Shereece Bell and Ladeja Danielle Gordon.

It was one of two shootings Tuesday in Augusta. The other one, at the Southgate Plaza along Gordon Highway, sent one person to a hospital.

Both incidents come on the heels of three slayings in two days across the CSRA that pushed the death toll of a nearly yearlong crime surge past 70.

We started tracking the surge in deadly crime last April. As the region’s largest city, Augusta has been hit especially hard, but the outbreak has affected communities large and small on both sides of the Savannah River.
