Suspect charged in North Augusta fatal hit-and-run

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A person has been charged and taken into custody after a hit-and-run Friday night that killed a North Augusta woman.
Investigators say 50-year-old Angela K. Blackwell was found Saturday around 7:31 a.m. on the shoulder of the road in the 500 block of Old Edgefield Road in North Augusta.
Officials say she was walking south Friday night, around 8:44 p.m., when she was hit by a vehicle that continued driving without stopping, according to video from several locations in the area.
They learned the vehicle description, and officials began looking for the suspected vehicle in the area.
The North Augusta Department of Public Safety says that at 11:00 a.m., a vehicle was located parked behind a house on Philpot Lane which matched the description and had front-end damage consistent with the video of the collision.
They say 59-year-old Roger Brabham Sr., of North Augusta, was identified as a suspect, and after questioning, confessed to being the driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal collision.
He is now in custody and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. He was booked into the Aiken County Detention Center.
