WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two students in Richmond and Burke counties were found with weapons on campus Thursday morning.

In a letter sent home to parents, Cross Creek High School Principal Sherri Darden says a “strong odor” was noticed as a student entered the school by the Richmond County School System police officer.

During a search, a weapon was found, according to the letter.

Darden says the incident will be addressed by the Richmond County Board of Education Student Code of Conduct and Discipline.
