Suspect in custody after fatal shooting in Allendale
ALLENDALE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Allendale Police Department is reporting that one person is dead and a suspect is in custody following a shooting Saturday night.
On Saturday just before 9 p.m., the Allendale Police Department’s Facebook page posted about a shooting that left one person dead.
While there was no active threat to the Allendale community when the report was posted on social media, the police department said SLED had been called in to assist in the case.
In a report from Police Chief Lawrence Wiggins, he says deputies responded to the shooting near the intersection of Hay Street and Razor Road.
He says the victim was transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Now, Wiggins says 60-year-old suspect, Roger Brabham Sr., turned himself in to agents with SLED and officers with the Allendale Police Department on Sunday.
Brabham was booked in the Allendale County Detention Center and is facing one count of homicide and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime.
Wiggins says this is considered to be a domestic violence case where a female was shot and killed. Her name has not been released at this time.
The killing is the latest in an outbreak of violent crime that’s claimed more than 100 lives across the CSRA in the past year and a half.
