1 person killed in Orangeburg County single-vehicle crash

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - One person is dead after a single-vehicle accident in Orangeburg County on Sunday morning.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it happened around 3 a.m. Sunday on Wildol Street.

Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway says the driver of a 2006 Honda minivan was driving east when he ran off the right side of the road, causing the vehicle to hit a culvert, overturn and hit a tree.

SCHP says the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
