MANCHESTER, N.H. (WRDW/WAGT) - Florida Gov. and 2024 Republican presidential hopeful, Ron DeSantis, suspended his campaign and backed former president, Donald Trump.

On Sunday, January 21, DeSantis posted to his “X” just before 3 p.m. Eastern time, ending his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in a 4-minute and 33-second video.

While backing former president Donald Trump, Gov. DeSantis took a shot at former U.N. ambassador, Nikki Haley, “We can’t go back to the old Republican guard of yester-year; a repackaged form of warmed-over corporatism, that Nikki Haley represents.”

DeSantis also quotes Winston Churchill over his video, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
