AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We have new information about a deadly crash involving a Richmond County deputy.
The crash happened back in March when Deputy Ty Dailey was driving a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.
The Georgia State Patrol says 75-year-old Jay Fager died in that crash.
Crash reports say Fager stopped at the intersection of Cohen Road and Highway 25 and failed to yield at a stop sign.
The report says Fager hit Dailey’s car.
We now know Augusta’s district attorney has referred the case to the Burke County Solicitor General’s Office.
That office handles misdemeanor cases, so that means felony charges would not be an option if there are any charges at all.
