1 person killed by weekend house fire in North Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating a house fire that left one dead in North Augusta, early Saturday morning.
On Saturday at 2:43 a.m., fire crews with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety responded to a house fire at 131 Tiger Lily Circle.
The Aiken County Coroner’s Office says that after the fire was extinguished, the body of one male was found inside the home.
An autopsy has been scheduled in Newberry to identify the victim, and the coroner says their name will be released once the family has been notified.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, News 12 26 will continue to follow this incident as more information becomes available.
