Crews battle overnight fire at The Ridge Recycling Center
JOHNSTON, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Crews battled an overnight fire at The Ridge Recycling Center in Johnston Tuesday night, according to authorities.
News 12 received a viewer tip about the flames coming from the recycling center around midnight. When we called Edgefield County dispatchers, they confirmed the call came in around 11:11 p.m. on Tuesday.
Crews left the scene around 3:50 a.m. and no surrounding buildings were in danger, according to dispatch.
There were also no injuries reported, dispatch confirms.

We are on the scene at 4:30 a.m. when deputies and crews returned to continue clearing the scene.
Trenton fire department crews and Edgefield County deputies are on still on the scene as of 5:10 a.m.
We are unsure what caused the fire.
Around 6 a.m., crews cleared the scene. We are waiting to hear more about the incident and it’s damage.
