AU students’ mural makes debut in downtown Augusta
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One of Augusta’s newest murals is now complete.
For weeks now, a group of Augusta University students have tirelessly chipped away at the massive project in downtown Augusta.
The completed work was unveiled at noon Monday at 11th and Reynolds streets directly across the street from the Georgia Cyber Center.
AU delays deadline amid federal financial aid snags
AU is extending the freshman confirmation deadline to June 1 because of unexpected federal delays with financial aid applications.

Several school leaders and others from Augusta’s art scene also were there to celebrate with the students.
“It’s very cool,” said Emily Radulescu, who helped with the project. “This is the first time I’ve ever done a mural, and to have one in such a prominent spot.”
The students started working on the project in the first week of February.
“I thought it was a great idea because I feel like it builds on that relationship between our students and downtown Augusta,” said Cyndy Epps, a lecturer of painting and drawing classes a AU. “I love seeing it right across the street from the Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center. We’ve had several students stop and say how much they appreciate the mural. It creates a sense of ownership.”
