Sgt. Breonna Moffett’s funeral held in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) -The community shared their fondest memories, words of encouragement for the family and vows to ensure Sergeant Breonna Moffett’s impact on this community and country will never be forgotten.

Her mother shared stories about her childhood and read a poem titled, “Only If”.

Savannah’s Mayor Van Johnson and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp came out to show their respects.

“Immensely sad, but immensely grateful this 23-year-old did more in her life than some do in 80 years,” Mayor Johnson said.

“To the entire Moffett family, please know that all of Georgia mourns with you today. Marty and the girls and I will continue to pray for you all during this difficult time,” Gov. Kemp said.

The service giving her loved ones a chance to reminisce on Sgt. Moffett’s for those around her.

“I will always love you, honor you and cherish you,” her mother said. “You are my Sergeant. You are my angel and I love you.”
