Woodrow Wilson’s boyhood home gives a glimpse into history

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - There was a local celebration for President’s Day on Monday.
Tours were given of the boyhood home of President Woodrow Wilson.
It’s one of only three presidential sites in Georgia.
President Wilson grew up in Augusta from 1858 until 1870 while his father was the pastor of First Presbyterian Church during the Civil War.
“It’s certainly a gem for the city to have a presidential site here. So many people come just to see a president’s home that possibly wouldn’t even be here in Augusta,” said Stephanie Herzberg, museum guide.
The experience ended with an afternoon tea and pie with Mrs. Wilson and next-door neighbor Mrs. Lamar.
