Coroner IDs 38-year-old man shot to death on Washington Road

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One person has died after a shooting on Washington Road early Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
Authorities say at 2:24 a.m., deputies responded to the 2800 block of Washington Road about shots fired with one person down.
John Lowden Jr., 38, of the 1700 block of Deer Chase Land, was shot at least one time and pronounced dead on the scene at 3:05 a.m., according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.
Upon arrival, deputies said they located one male in the eastbound right lane.
An autopsy will be scheduled, according to the coroner’s office.
This makes the eleventh person killed in the CSRA in 2024.
