AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We have a warm and active weather week ahead. Showers and isolated thunderstorms likely Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. A stronger system will push in late Friday into Saturday with heavy rain, thunderstorms, and flooding possible.

After a beautiful Monday afternoon with plenty of sunshine, skies will remain partly cloudy tonight with lows near 50°. Tuesday morning and early afternoon look dry, with rain chances increasing Tuesday evening ahead of an incoming low-pressure system.

Rain chances remain elevated Wednesday morning as the aforementioned area of low pressure es through. Some heavy showers and an isolated thunderstorm are expected between midnight and noon Wednesday. We get a break from the rain on Thursday with highs reaching the middle 70s and more sun than clouds!

Additional heavy rainfall possible Friday into Saturday. We are expecting a strong front to push through the region sometime Friday into Saturday. Heavy rain is currently the most likely impact with some flooding possible, especially given saturated soils from possible rainfall earlier in the week. Severe thunderstorms are also possible, but confidence is currently low.

Keep it here for updates through the weekend!
