Newly released documents shed light on death of Demon Parrish
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - News 12 has obtained the arrest warrants that shed light on a timeline of events that officials believe connect Caleb White to the death of an Augusta man previously reported missing.
According to the warrants, on Jan. 9, White is accused of causing the death of Demon Parrish by shooting Parrish with a handgun in Richmond County.
On Jan. 10, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to Blount Avenue regarding a missing person. Upon arrival, deputies met with family of Parrish, who stated he had been missing since the morning of Jan. 9.
According to the report, family say Find My iPhone and GPS tracked Parrish’s cell phone to an Augusta University Parking Lot, noting the phone was last updated at 2:56 p.m. on Jan. 9.
The family says they found Parrish’s 2020 white Kia Optima parked in the parking lot facing 1278 Augusta Avenue.
The Richmond County Crime Scene Unit says “a projectile strike” was seen in the rear driver’s seat of the vehicle, along with “an extensive amount of blood that covered the enger seat and floorboards of the vehicle,” the warrants state.
In the trunk, a black comforter with blood was also located. White’s sister and roommate later identified it as her missing comforter, which she had given to White, according to the report.
Deputies say camera footage was obtained from the Antioch Baptist Church, directly across the street from Augusta Avenue.
This is where family and friends held a search for Parrish near the church on Jan. 12.
The video shows Parrish’s car being driven by White between Jan. 9 and 10.
The warrants do not mention if they believe Parrish was inside the vehicle at the time.
On Jan. 9 at around 2:33 p.m., a subject parked the car in the Augusta University parking lot and ran into the back door of the house. The subject later returns to the car and leaves the location, the warrant states.
Richmond County investigators later searched the home, where investigators detained White’s brother.

TIMELINE DETAILED ON THE WARRANTS

The car was later tracked to a Sprint Gas Station in Beech Island, S.C, where Parrish’s Apple Pay was used to purchase $10 of gas at 12:05 p.m., the warrant states.

At 1:09 p.m., a Flock camera spotted the car at 12th Street and MLK Boulevard, which is the last time the car is spotted before arriving in the parking lot behind Augusta Avenue, where White is seen running from.
The car was later seen driving around Richmond County, but Parrish’s cell phone records show no more movement on Jan. 9.
On Jan. 10 at 2:25 p.m., White was seen at 3338 Wrightsboro Road, Walmart in Parrish’s car. He is later seen returning the car to Augusta Avenue before leaving for Columbia, S.C.
According to the report, the investigation revealed that White went to a house in Columbia on Jan. 11. Investigators interviewed the man whom White visited. He told investigators that White told him he had made a trip to Savannah, Ga., the previous night but did not say why.
He told deputies that White had previously told him that he went to Savannah “with a transgender person to obtain marijuana.” The man told deputies that White smashed an iPhone at his house and “appeared to be acting suspiciously.”
He said on Jan. 11, he heard about Parrish’s case and asked White questions while he was at the home. The man stated that White did not answer and left, investigators say.
The man provided investigators with security camera footage which showed White in the same clothing from previous footage.
On Feb. 17, Parrish’s remains were located on the 3500 block of Silver Bluff Road in Aiken. The remains of Parrish appeared to have a gunshot wound to the back of the head, according to the warrant.
