LIST: Candidates qualify for local elections across the area
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The deadline has now come and gone for potential candidates to file their intent to run in November’s local elections.
Now we know who is officially running for Columbia County, Richmond County and Burke County sheriff, as well as for other offices.
In Richmond County
The official list of sheriff’s candidates includes current Sheriff Richard Roundtree, Eugene Brantley, Bo Johnson and Richard Dixon.
In Columbia County
Sheriff Clay Whittle will run unopposed.

In Burke County
Lewis Blanchard and current Sheriff Alfonzo Williams are the only candidates who qualified for Burke County sheriff.
In Emanuel County
