Orangeburg man gets prison for paying mailman to deliver marijuana
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - An Orangeburg man was sentenced to more than three years in federal prison after being accused of paying a mailman to help him deliver marijuana.
According to federal court records, Lemont Antwaun Darby, 37, was a drug dealer who received packages of marijuana from California.
In the court records, authorities with U.S. Department of Justice accused Darby of approaching a city carrier with the Columbia Main Post Office and Dutch Fork Station in 2022 to deliver packages of marijuana.

On several occasions, Darby used an online payment app and paid Mjaan Roland, 31, from Chapin, between $100 to $200 to deliver marijuana to an address on Roland’s route, court records said. He also would provide Roland with drugs, authorities said.
Darby pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute marijuana.
Roland also pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
