Lottery player wins $2M at Circle K on Whiskey Road

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Luck struck in Aiken, again. For the second time this year, a South Carolina Education Lottery player has won $2 million at an Aiken convenience store.

Less than four miles separate the two Circle K locations where millionaires were made.

The recent $2 million winning ticket was sold at the Circle K at 2948 Whiskey Road.

The first one was bought in January at the Circle K at 1014 E. Pine Log Road.

Both $2 million prizes were won off of the Lottery’s $20 Millionaire’s Club scratch-off.

The odds of that happening are 1 in 1,260,000.

“I wasn’t expecting it,” the first millionaire told lottery officials after cashing in his big win. “I still don’t feel like a millionaire.”

The other winner feels the same way. “I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I only bought one ticket.”

Two more top prizes of $2 million remain in the Millionaire’s Club game.

For selling the claimed tickets, both Circle K Stores received a commission of $20,000.

Though not local, three people won big in Georgia on Tuesday, according to the Georgia Lottery Corporation.

No ticket matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night, which means the estimated jackpot for Friday’s drawing has climbed to $792 million. It would be the sixth-largest prize in the lottery’s history, Atlanta News First reports.

The numbers drawn Tuesday were 2, 16, 31, 57, 64 and 24.

The largest Mega Million jackpot was more than $1.6 billion, won on a single ticket in Florida in August 2023.

Mega Millions holds the distinction of being the only lottery game to have awarded five jackpots worth more than $1 billion, all in different states — Florida, South Carolina, Maine, Illinois and Michigan.

Tickets are sold in 45 states as well as Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
