AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - After an hourslong outage, water service was restored Friday afternoon to the University of South Carolina Aiken campus.
A main water pipe on campus broke, so service had to be shut off so repairs could be made.
As a result, classes were canceled for the day.
By 4 p.m. Friday, service had been restored, and restrooms and water sources were operational.
On-campus activities for the evening and weekend were set to continue as scheduled.
The cafeteria was also resuming normal operating hours and service of scheduled menu items.
There was no interruption to water service for the university police, university housing or the convocation center.
