AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A new month brings new opportunities; check out who is hiring in the CSRA.

Richmond County School System

The Richmond County School System will continue recruiting for open positions and for the 2024-25 school year.

Aiken Regional Medical Center

Aiken Regional Medical Center is increasing opportunities to the team by offering regularly scheduled job fairs throughout 2023.

Job fairs will focus on positions in nursing and services. Full and part-time employees are eligible for benefits that include but not limited to health insurance, paid time off, 401k and tuition reimbursement.

Qualified nurses can receive a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000.

Here’s a schedule of 2023 job fairs at Aiken Regional:

  • March 21
  • April 18, May 16, Jun. 13, Jul. 18, Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14 - from 1 to 3:30 p.m. for nursing positions.
  • Every second Tuesday- from 1 to 3:30 p.m. for environmental services positions.
  • Every Wednesday – from 10 a.m. to noon except for December, which will only be held the first two Wednesdays of the month.

Augusta University

Augusta University and Career Services are hosting the annual Jaguar Job Fair. More than 60 businesses and non-profits will be on hand.

AU students and alumni are encouraged to explore full-time and part-time employment, internships and co-op programs, and season hiring by being prepared to interact with those in attendance.

“Attending the Jaguar Job Fair is a great way to build employer knowledge and a network for now and later,” said Julie Goley, director of Career Services at Augusta University. “We encourage our first- and second-year students to attend to find out about part-time needs, as well as internship recruiting cycles with employers. For our upperclassmen and graduates/alumni, it is a great time to leverage s for internships and full-time employment. With the automation of applications, students lack face time with employers to learn about different industries and what they value. This event provides that.”

VA Augusta

VA Augusta Health Care System invites ed nurses and licensed practical nurses to a nursing job fair.

VA Augusta Health Care System has about 2,700 employees who serve more than 50,000 unique veteran patients each year in Georgia and South Carolina. In addition to Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center’s two campuses in Augusta, VA Augusta operates three outpatient clinics in Aiken, South Carolina, and Athens and Statesboro, Georgia.

Com For Hope, a local nonprofit, is looking for volunteer barbers and hairdressers to help those in need. They meet each Sunday morning in the James Brown Arena parking lot.

Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center

Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center seeking local volunteer drivers part of VA Augusta Health Care System, is seeking volunteers in the Columbia and Richmond counties area who are willing to help local Veterans by serving as drivers.

“Volunteers can sign up to drive one day a month or more,” said Brown. “VA Augusta is only as strong as the community that s us, so we’re grateful for anyone who can us and our Veteran patients in this way.”

Among the requirements for the drivers are a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, ing a physical exam, the ability to conduct simple pre-operation vehicle checks, and attendance at a defensive driver training course provided by VA Augusta.

VA Augusta also provider volunteer drivers with free breakfast and lunch meal tickets during their time volunteering.
