Glenn Hills student arrested in armed robbery; 1 suspect at large

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Authorities have arrested one of two Glenn Hills High School students who are accused of robbing classmates at gunpoint.

Ty’Tron “Tron” Antonio Hope, 17, was taken into custody, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Still at large is Ka’Von “Kamp” Patterson, 17, who is 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 150 pounds.

Richmond County parents reeling from plan to close pair of schools

Richmond County parents are still absorbing the fact that the district will be closing two schools as it moves forward with a plan that will consolidate several schools even while new ones are built.

The robbery happened around 11 a.m. March 7 near the school.

A male and female student said they left the campus and went to a vacant building at 2630 Georgetown Drive.

Deputies said they were approached by two other male students from the school, who held them up at gunpoint. The female student was robbed of an iPhone and an Apple watch, while the male student was robbed of a pair of Airpods and his Nike Jordan 5 shoes.

The victims returned to school and reported the robbery.
