AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man wanted for questioning about a sexual battery incident on Windsor Spring Road last Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of Wally’s Gas Station, 4250 Windsor Spring Road, on March 20 around 2:45 p.m.

The victim told deputies that while she was pumping gas into containers, an unknown male walked up to her and touched her inappropriately.

She took the gas hose and sprayed gasoline onto the unknown man, deputies say.

The suspect walked away, and the victim told deputies she attempted to find the male while on the phone with 911.

She saw the suspect sitting at a church, so she returned to the gas station, according to authorities.

The victim stated the suspect returned to the station with changed clothes, wearing blue jean pants, a black shirt and a black and white jacket, authorities say.

The suspect was also carrying a knife in his hand, the victim told deputies.

The victim said he told her “he was going to kill her and I’ll have a shoot-out with the police,” according to authorities.

Authorities say a few good Samaritans in the station told him to leave, and he did.

According to authorities, they will investigate possible video footage.

The subject is known to frequent the store. Anyone with knowledge of his identity is asked to Investigator Ken Rogers or any violent crimes investigator at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080.
