Wellstar, MCG push to improve telehealth for patients
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Wellstar and the Medical College of Georgia are working to improve telehealth for you at home.
On Tuesday, we got a glance at remote care programs through the eyes of patients.
The goal is to help cut your costs.
“What we have been able to do from an outcome perspective is to be able to keep patients out of the hospital, reduce their length of stay has really become an opportunity for financial incentive for the health system. So, if I’m able to take a patient who might have been a frequent re-itter two or three times in the hospital and keep them out, then the cost of care goes down.
That’s a win-win not only for the patient but also for the health system as well,” said Lauren Hopkins with Wellstar/MCG Health.
Virtual Care at Home, which encomes four programs, is still in the works.
