AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Special foods and drinks are all the rage this week as thousands of visitors look to try the local cuisine.

We stopped by Harlem Java House where you can try some unique southern flavors.

You’ve heard of croissants and waffles, but what if you mixed the two and gave them a mouth-watering twist?

“In February, we released a thing called croffle, which is a croissant put into a waffle maker. We have a pimento cheese croffle which is more savory than our past flavors but it’s really good and people have loved it. In addition to that we have peaches and cream,” said Beth Zinkhan, barista.

But it doesn’t stop there.

This month’s golf-themed menu also brings a drink flight with something for everyone, even people who don’t like coffee.

“Again, leaning into the Masters, we have tea available. We have matcha available if you’re feeling adventurous. We have Italian soda, and we have a coffee. Again, all flavors we have year-round but we wanted to showcase these and get people out here and trying something new,” said Zinkhan.

They say it’s a way to show people all the area has to offer.

“Our goal with this menu was to get more people to kind of come out of the traffic area of Augusta and explore the surrounding counties,” said Zinkhan.

And the croffles have been a huge hit.

Alina Kilpatrick, assistant manager, said: “It’s been a great experience. We released in February, and we’ve sold over 1,000 croffles already.”

If you’re interested in stopping by, the drink flight is $20 and the croffles are $6.75.
