Parker’s Kitchen donates to Aiken County Public School District
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - On Wednesday, officials cut the ribbon at the new Parker’s Kitchen gas station in Aiken County.
Along with the ribbon cutting, Parker’s Kitchen’s CEO and Founder, Greg Parker, presented the first “Fueling the Community” check to the Aiken County Public School District for $5,000.
“Education is the foundation of all of our philanthropy. We want to have a touch point in every community where we have a store,” said Parker.
They say on the first Wednesday of every month, part of the proceeds of gas sold at Parker’s Kitchen will go to the Aiken County Public School District.
“We’re always excited about any community partnership and Parker’s has a brand known for quality and friendly services, so we are very pleased to have them as an education partner,” said Corey Murphy, Aiken County Public School District’s Chief Officer of Operations & Student Services. “They are going to have fuel rewards that will be designated to each school.”
Parker’s Kitchen has donated more than $2 million to public and private schools in South Carolina and Georgia since the program started in 2011.
“Every year we are fighting smaller budgets and more demands, so anytime we can get some ancillary funding, it’s great for the kids,” said Murphy.
