Woman accused of causing fractures to baby at Evans home

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 21-year-old has been accused of cruelty to children in Evans, according to authorities.
Daophet Somsamayvong-Turner was arrested on Tuesday and charged with cruelty to children in the first degree, according to jail records.
According to the arrest warrant from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around midnight on April 4 on the 4800 block of Birdwood Court.
According to the affidavit, Somsamayvong-Turner did cause multiple fractures to a 5-month-old victim.
The relationship between the suspect and the victim is unknown.
According to the sheriff’s office, her bond is set at $25,000.
