AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Augusta Regional Airport gave News 12 a new look at its operations on Friday.

They let us on the tarmac with a bird’s eye view to see just how many planes are coming and going with patrons from the tournament.

The executive director says they are seeing three to four times the normal amount of engers this week.

But don’t worry. They say they have plans in place to help deal with the congestion.

“It starts with traffic control. We have brought in additional controllers this week to help manage traffic coming into here,” said Executive Director Herbert Judon, Jr. “We also provide parking for private planes and corporate aircraft. So for our secondary runway, we close down that runway and taxiway and we park our aircraft there.”
