A special farewell to retiring CBS announcer Verne Lundquist

AUGUSTA, Ga. - At News 12, we’re wishing a special best of luck to CBS sportscaster Verne Lundquist, who’s retiring.
This is his last Masters Tournament with CBS.
It marks his 40th year at the Masters.
Born the son of a minister, Lundquist went on to be a part of the cathedral of golf, taking his seat as the lead announcer at the 16th and 17th holes.
His words and his voice brought us a soundtrack to some of golf’s most iconic moments.
We wish him the best in his retirement, and he will be missed.
