Greenbrier baseball gains momentum ahead of playoffs
EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - In any sport, it’s not always about who the best team is.
It’s about who’s playing the best at the right time.
With the high school baseball playoffs right around the corner, Greenbrier is picking up momentum with a few key wins down the stretch.
The Wolfpack swept their doubleheader against Statesboro Tuesday night, keeping their hopes of winning their region title alive.
Last week, they beat Harlem at Harlem High School, handing the nationally ranked Bulldogs their first and only loss of the season.
Greenbrier’s baseball program has a proud history of success, and this year’s team has experienced and hungry ball players throughout their whole lineup.
“We feel like we can play with anybody in the state of Georgia, and you know obviously that win last week against Harlem, you know they’re going to be there in the very end, and when you beat a club like that it gives you the confidence, it gives out guys the confidence that they can play with anybody,” said Head Coach David Barnes.
The Pack is currently tied atop the class 5A region one standings with Ware County.
