Columbia County schools salute miltary families

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - April is the Month of the Military Child, and in honor of that, one of our school districts is going purple.
On Friday at Riverside Elementary School, the Columbia County School District hosted 100 military families for breakfast.
The goal of the event was to show for military children and celebrate their strength amid sacrifices.
They go through a lot of things that most kids don’t, Michael Tresslar said.
“They’ve packed up and moved with their family multiple times by now so it’s a thing that most kids don’t experience in the volume that we do as a military family,” the military dad said.
Students were also encouraged to wear purple.
