Student caught with pocket knife at Evans High school
EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Criminal charges are being filed after a student brought a pocket knife to Evans High School and a fracas between eight-graders disrupted instruction at Grovetown Middle School.
The pocket knife incident happened Thursday, Evans High School Principal Wade White told parents in a letter.
s and Columbia County School District police got a report that a student was showing a pocket knife to other students.
No threats were made, and the knife was confiscated and secured without incident.
The student is being held able according to the code of conduct and has also been criminally charged.
The school day was not interrupted and operations continued as normal.

A day earlier, a fight at Grovetown Middle School also resulted in charges, Principal Simon Rodriguez told parents in a letter.
It started with a physical altercation between two eighth-graders on Wednesday morning, he said.
While the incident was being de-escalated, one of the students caused a disruption in the hallway that briefly distracted students in other classrooms, Rodriguez said.
All responsible parties are being held able according to the code of conduct and have been criminally charged, the principal said.
