Driver killed in single-car crash just north of Monetta
MONETTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Aiken County.
The Aiken County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as 33-year-old Kevon Parker of Johnston, who was pronounced dead on the scene from blunt-force injuries.
On Saturday at 4:05 p.m., troopers say, the car carrying Parker crashed on Chinquapin Church Road, half a mile north of Monetta.

Troopers said the 2005 Pontiac sedan was traveling south on Chinquapin Church Road when it moved off the road to the right, then moved off the road to the left, where it hit an embankment and then a tree.
The coroner said a toxicology analysis is pending.
It wasn’t the only deadly crash in the past few days.
In Augusta, a 60-year-old moped driver died after he hit the side of a vehicle turning onto Harold Road from Peach Orchard Road.
On Saturday, two people died in a single-vehicle crash in Barnwell County.
And on Wednesday, one person died in a Burke County crash on River Road.
