60-year-old moped rider dies after crash on Peach Orchard Road
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A moped driver died early Sunday after he slammed into another vehicle in Augusta.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says 60-year-old Robert Brown, of Augusta, was riding a moped north on Peach Orchard Road when he hit the side of a vehicle turning onto Harold Road.
Brown was taken to Wellstar MCG Health hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:05 Sunday, according to Bowen.
An autopsy has been scheduled.

The crash was one of several deadly ones in the past few days across the CSRA.
On Saturday, a driver died after his car ran off Chinquapin Church Road north of Monetta, hitting an embankment and a tree.
Earlier Saturday, two people died in a single-vehicle crash in Barnwell County.
And on Wednesday, one person died in a Burke County crash on River Road.
