One-Tank Trip: Trying extreme experiences in north Georgia
HELEN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Are you ready for some extreme experiences?
In this week’s One-Tank Trip, we visited Nacoochee Adventures.
It’s home to seven different zip lines and a giant swing that will lift you 50 feet in the air.
“It was a very vast, big 600-acre piece of property, lot of undulations, and not really usable for much other stuff, so we found a unique way to be able to see and use the property by adding the zip lines,” said general manager Josh Luke.
MORE ONE-TANK TRIPS:
- If you like game shows, give this a spin
- Immerse yourself in the world of college football
- This Georgia gas station has unique backyard
- Visit the first Waffle House, right here in Georgia
- Take a roller-coaster ride down a mountain
- Pan for gold in a real Georgia gold mine
- Have some big fun with small trains
Luke drove our Will Volk to the top of a mountain for his first zip-lining experience ever.
What’s a better introduction than “The Intimidator?”
It’s a half-mile zip down a mountain that has you going at least 45 miles per hour.
“It’s not gonna take your stomach away like a rollercoaster’s going to, but you’re gonna get that kind of smooth glide through the air and be able to look around and take in the view,” said Luke.
Volk thinks the anticipation is the worst, but he stepped off and took a glide and realizes it wasn’t so bad.
He landed on the challenge course, which he didn’t try because he had his sights set on the giant swing.
“That’s gonna give you that, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m gonna die feeling.’ It’s gonna take your stomach away,” said Luke.
It takes you 50 feet in the air before free falling. We’re definitely not on the playground anymore.
Nacoochee Adventures is open seven days a week, but they recommend you set something up before going.
