New details emerge after Allendale shooting injures officer

ALLENDALE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - New details have emerged after an officer-involved shooting in Allendale on Saturday, according to authorities.

On April 27, around 4:10 p.m. Allendale police officers were patrolling the area of Raysor Road and Carroll Street after hearing gunshots.

While investigating, the officers say were shot at multiple times, hitting the back of the vehicle.

One of the officers was able to call 911 to report he was injured, authorities say. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

More officers arrived on the scene when the shooting ended as the suspects fled.

Officials say the wounded officer is stable but requires further treatment.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating the incident.
