14-year-old arrested in deadly shooting at Olmstead Homes
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 14-year-old has been arrested and charged in a fatal shooting earlier this week at the Olmstead Homes, one of five murder cases across the CSRA within eight days.
On Monday, Carnell Quiller, 14, was arrested and charged with murder.
He s 19-year-old Tydasia Hope, who we already reported was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the homicide at 2136 C St. on Sunday.

Deputies responded to the address to investigate a shooting around 8:05 p.m. Sunday.
Jaleen Xavier Sumpter, 22, of the 2100 block of Reserve Lane was shot at least one time and pronounced dead on the scene at 8:45 p.m., according to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.
Another victim was taken to WellStar MCG hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg, officials say.
The warrant states the wounded victim is in stable condition.

Law enforcement officials have said solutions will need to come from parents and the community – solutions that don’t happen with just talk but with having boots on the ground every day.

Several other teenagers ranging from 15 to 16 years old were present at the time of the incident, according to a report from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Sumpter, according to Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen.
Quiller is the second teenage boy arrested in Augusta within a few days in connection with a murder.
Darryaun Tanksley, 15, turned himself in on Sunday after deputies identified him as a suspect in the death of Anthony Harrison, 14, at the Cedarwood Apartments on April 30.
Other murders
Meanwhile, a suspect is wanted in connection to the murder of a 37-year-old man in Augusta, one of the string of fatal shootings in the past few days.
Authorities say Ryon Lewis is wanted for murder in the fatal shooting of Gregory Dunn early Wednesday in Augusta at the intersection of Carp Drive and Tudor Drive.

Lewis is known to frequent the Fish Village and Boy Scout Road neighborhoods, authorities say. He has family connections in New Orleans.
Lewis has active arrest warrants through this agency for murder and possession of firearm during the commission of crime, according to authorities.
Authorities say he is believed to be armed and dangerous.

A suspect is wanted in connection to the murder of a 37-year-old man in Augusta, one of five fatal shootings in the CSRA this week, according to authorities.

Anyone with information on him is urged to call Investigator Tyler Steerman or any violent crimes investigator at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1427 or 706-821-1080.
Other fatal shootings in the past few days include:
- Timothy Davenport, 53, was shot in the head around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Jeffcoat Road in Aiken County, according to deputies. Around 11:15 p.m., Aiken County deputies found and arrested the suspect, Jonathan Daquan Staley, 22, on Highway 302 near Wagener, authorities say.
- Jalen Jones, 22, was shot around 11:33 a.m. Monday at a home in the 300 block of Greenwich Drive in Aiken. He was found in a shed in the backyard of the home and pronounced deceased on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. Jones will be autopsied Thursday in Newberry.
- Anthony Harrison, 14, was shot dead at the Cedarwood Apartments, 527 W. Richmond Hill Road, on April 30. The Murphey Middle School student is being mourned as a good athlete and a fine young man. Authorities say Darryaun Tanksley, 15, turned himself in on Sunday after deputies identified him as a suspect in the death of Harrison.
The shootings come amid an outbreak of violent crime that’s claimed more than 150 lives across the CSRA in two years. It’s affected communities large and small on both sides of the Savannah River.
Authorities have blamed much of the problem on gangs, and many of the victims have been young men.
