K-9 stabbed, suspect shot by deputies in South Carolina

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Some details are coming from Greenville County authorities on what happened in a shooting with deputies.

The sheriff says his deputies and Homeland Security officials tried to serve warrants on a suspect Monday.

There are only nine more days left of the 2023-2024 school year in Richmond County, but not every student will close out the year in their zoned school.

Richmond County allows families to pick a school of their choosing.

He says the suspect stabbed a K-9 multiple times, and that’s when three deputies shot at the suspect.

Officials say the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital.

There’s no word yet on his condition.

Deputies say the K-9 is on the road to recovery after surgery, and no one else got hurt.
