COLUMBIA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A North Augusta man was shocked when Columbia lottery staff showed him his Powerball ticket was worth $1 million.
“I was dumbstruck,” he said.
The winner says he bought the ticket at the Quik Trip on Edgefield Road in North Augusta.
The message read “See Lottery,” but it didn’t tell him his prize, according to a news release.
“It’s enough for me to retire and be happy,” he said.
The ticket missed winning a $1 billion jackpot by one number in the drawing on April 3. The odds of winning $1 million are 1 in 11,688,054.
For selling the ticket, the Quik Trip location received $10,000.
