N. Augusta Yellow Jackets hit gridiron for spring football game
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Most of our high school spring sports are wrapping up for the season, which means it’s time to turn our attention towards the fall and football season.
The North Augusta Yellow Jackets hit the gridiron for their annual spring game.
The Jackets are coming off a season where they had a first-round exit in the playoffs after a tough overtime loss to Midland Valley for the region title.
Starting quarterback Corey Tillman, running back Michael Doe and wide receiver Connor Brown are all returning next season.
We caught up with Head Coach Richard Bush who’s going into his second season leading the Jackets to find out how he feels about this new swarm of Yellow Jackets.
“This team has the ability to be as good as they want to be. We’ve got to continue to grow in the weight room and to grow in the film room and continue to learn our alignments and assignments, but ability-wise, this team has as much ability as I’ve been around. We’re excited about this season. We have a very tough schedule, but at the same time we’re excited about our schedule, and we’re excited about our program. So, the fall will be here before you know it,” said Bush.
The Jackets are set to kick off the season on August 23 at the brickyard against the Thomson Bulldogs.
