Augusta Housing Authority brings resources together for seniors
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Wednesday was a special day for seniors at the Peabody Apartments, thanks to the Augusta Housing Authority.
Seniors who live in the public housing gathered inside for Senior, Fitness and Wellness Day.
Local representatives from Golden Harvest Food Bank, AARP the Richmond County Health Department and other agencies and nonprofits were there to provide information.
“We want them to walk away knowing we love them, that we care for them and that we are investing and fulfilling their day by providing them excellent, quality services and giving them resources and opportunities to make that a reality,” said Reta Thomas, director of Residence Services for the Augusta Housing Authority
They hope to hold this event again. They want to offer various activities for seniors who live within the Augusta Housing Authority areas throughout the year.
