AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Augusta-Richmond County Public Library hosted a community event, Book Bash, to kick off an annual free summer reading program on Saturday.

The Augusta-Richmond County Public Library teamed up with Rise Augusta and the United Way of the CSRA to host the event at Pendleton King Park on Saturday.

Community and families were able to participate in book giveaways.

The summer reading program at the library is free this summer to help combat the summer knowledge slide as kids are out of school.

Richmond County residents of all ages are invited to participate in the annual program.

This year’s theme is Adventure Begins at Your Library.

Read, earn prizes (while supplies last), and participate in fun and free programs over the summer.

here and at all Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System locations starting June 1.
