GBI charges 26-year-old with child molestation in Screven County
SYLVANIA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has arrested and charged a Sylvania man with child molestation, according to authorities.
The GBI has arrested and charged James Ryan Burkes, 26, with child molestation, sexual battery against a child under 16 years old and battery, authorities say.
On Feb. 12, the GBI says its assistance was requested by the Screven County Sheriff’s Office to investigate allegations made against Burkes.

A former Screven County school employee is facing charges after deputies said several students reported inappropriate conversations.

The investigation shows Burkes had inappropriate sexual with a minor in Screven County, according to authorities.
He was booked into Screven County jail, authorities say.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
