ORANGEBURG, S.C. - The search for a stolen trailer in Orangeburg County led investigators to seize several illegal drugs.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said investigators tracked the trailer to a home on Millwood Farm Road after a man told them he saw it posted on a social media marketplace.

“When we pulled up to check on the trailer, we wound up in the middle of a drug transaction,” Ravenell said. “The end result is the seizure of several types of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.”

Deputies said as they approached an outbuilding, investigators observed a man hanging over a bag to another man a bag. Later, investigators found that bag contained marijuana.

The man who received the bag stated he was only “smelling” the contents of the bag, according to deputies.

Investigators found jars of marijuana, a large bag of marijuana, several bottles of THC syrup, THC vapes, gummies, extract oils, mushrooms, digital scales, a food-grade sealer and a grinder ― along with other drug-related paraphernalia.

Deputies say warrants were obtained for 53-year-old Roger Salley, who is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, trafficking methamphetamine or cocaine base, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon.
